Roundabout area for new Construction 

A small section of The Daily News discusses the $4-$5 Million Cruz Bay roundabout that is going to bid.  Once I turned to page 13 to read the rest of the article, the price had already jumped to $4-$7 Million.  Wow, 13 pages and $2 Million Dollars.  The design that was chosen was published a few months ago.  It showed what most of us would refer to as a rotary.  For $7 Million one would wonder if the street will be paved in gold.  The contract bid should be awarded in December and construction to begin by March of 2008 with a 2 year completion time.  But then again, maybe we taxpayers shouldn’t be worried about the price range as the daily news further explains that the funds for the project may not yet be available and the “Contract award is subject to availability of funds.”
