We listed our home in January thinking it would take a year or so to sell but, to our surprise it is due to close next week. Sunday was my friend and former colleague Beth’s birthday, and our last chance for a pool party. We smoked a turkey and invited friends over for a pot-luck supper but the weather (a brisk 72 degrees and windy) was not really great for the pool. Most of the kids sat wrapped in towels to stay warm. By days end, they were climbing the walls. Literally…
