An unexpected period of calm weather arrived last week which allowed for some fun on the water. We trolled South on Wednesday in slightly choppy seas and saw nothing; not a bird, no bait, no fish. After noon we pulled in the lines and headed home and back to work for the rest of the day.

Easter vacation is almost here and the chicks are everywhere. These beauties were peeping around outside our building this afternoon so I grabbed a photo. Looking a bit more like “teenagers” than chicks, they are old enough to have their fluffy white and yellow down replaced by what will be their adult colored feathering.
